Montclair Bread Co. Sets Up Shop in Library
by Michele Silver
Doughnut fans rejoice! The Montclair Bread Co. (MBC) is the new food vendor in the café space inside the town library. While some may be mourning the absence of Terra Café and its charming tea service, it won’t be for long. Montclair Bread Co. serves up Mighty Leaf teas, Stumptown Roaster’s coffee, addictive doughnuts (recently lauded by actor Mindy Kaling on Instagram and publicized in People magazine, http://www.people.com/people/greatideas/gallery/0,,20986695_30452256,00.html), and tasty sandwiches on fresh-baked bread that will sure to become new favorites.
Coffee choices include classic drip, cold-brewed iced, cappuccinos, and specialty lattes that comprise vanilla bean, nutella or mocha. You won’t want to pass up a treat to pair with your beverage such as a banana walnut chip muffin, maple bacon-topped or tres leches-filled doughnut, peanut butter cookie, or coconut macaroon. For a satisfying lunch, the MBC sandwich specialties will make your mouth water: pear, brie and arugula on a French baguette; French country ham with brie, hard-boiled egg and cornichons on a buttered French baguette; roasted chicken salad with tarragon on a multigrain roll.
A perfect spot for a study break, meeting with friends for coffee after browsing the bookshelves or bringing the kids for a snack after story time, the MBC at the Montclair Public Library is a delicious addition to the reading community.
